SkillUp! Project
LRC Foundation in partnership with Welthungerhilfe started the Skill Up! Program, Welthungerhilfe’s flagship program for skills development, in September 2019. Having been tested and implemented in various contexts and under diverse conditions, the Skill Up! Approach used in the program can be regarded as Welthungerhilfe’s central approach to skills development. Being more than a blueprint, this model is designed in a flexible way and allows an easy adaptation to local specificities. The quality and flexibility of the approach has been evidenced by the feasibility study (conducted 2019) for the anglophone Skill Up! Global Program, highlighting that:
“The Skill Up! program is effective in generating youth employment by providing skills training to young vulnerable people and supporting them to start a professional life.” As a flexible approach, it “has been applied successfully in several countries with very different conditions.”
